MAC - Understanding Panther-s Groups And Workgroups (Mac OS X 10.3 Server)
Panther uses two terms that may cause confusion. The first term, group, refers to legacy UNIX groups that can be assigned standard permissions, such as read, write, and execute. A workgroup, on the other hand, refers to a client (user, group, or computer) that has at least one managed preference. For example, only members of the print designers' workgroup may be able to print to a color printer.
